Order Types

PolyPulse supports two types of orders for trading on Polymarket.

Market Order

A market order executes immediately at the best available price.

  • Pros: Fast execution, guaranteed fill
  • Cons: May have slippage on larger orders; taker fees apply (charged by Polymarket)
  • Best for: Small to medium trades where speed matters

How to Place a Market Order

  1. Select Yes or No on the market card
  2. Enter your amount in USDC.e
  3. Choose "Market" as the order type
  4. The estimated shares you'll receive is shown
  5. Click Confirm

Limit Order

A limit order lets you set the exact price you want to pay. It only executes if the market reaches your price.

  • Pros: You control the price, no slippage, 0% fee (maker orders on Polymarket)
  • Cons: May not fill if the market doesn't reach your price
  • Minimum: 5 shares per order (required by Polymarket)
  • Best for: Larger trades or when you want a specific entry point

How to Place a Limit Order

  1. Select Yes or No on the market card
  2. Enter your amount in USDC.e
  3. Choose "Limit" as the order type
  4. Set your desired price (between $0.01 and $0.99)
  5. Click Confirm

TIP

Limit orders at better prices fill faster. For example, if Yes is trading at $0.65, a limit buy at $0.63 is more likely to fill than one at $0.55.

Understanding Prices

Polymarket prices represent probability:

PriceMeaning
$0.75 YesMarket thinks 75% chance of Yes
$0.25 NoSame market, No shares cost $0.25
$0.50Market is undecided (50/50)
  • Yes + No always sum to $1.00
  • If an event resolves Yes, each Yes share pays $1.00
  • If an event resolves No, each No share pays $1.00

Fees

All trading fees are charged by Polymarket, not by PolyPulse. PolyPulse does not add any fees.

Order TypePolymarket Fee
Limit order (maker)0% + potential rebates
Market order (taker)Variable, based on price and market
Crypto 15M (taker)Up to 10% base rate

Polymarket calculates fees using: fee = baseRate * min(price, 1 - price)

This means the effective fee is highest when the price is near $0.50 and lowest near the extremes ($0.01 or $0.99). The fee rate varies per market and is set by Polymarket.

TIP

Use limit orders to avoid fees entirely. Limit orders are placed as maker orders on Polymarket and have 0% fee.

The exact fee for your trade is always displayed in the order preview before you confirm.
